Lindy Nelson, Founded AWDTNZ and AmplyfyingUs: a Podcast in service to the mission.

Food producer, AWDT Founder, Researcher, and ardent supporter of women. She is a visionary leader who has followed her heart-unafraid to tackle challengers and is driven to make a difference to the NZ Primary Industry.

Creating the Agri Women’s Development Trust has led to a transformation in NZ’s food and agricultural sector through unleashing the talent of women.

She believes women hold the key to supporting and leading much of the change that needs to happen globally, and is active around the world supporting women’s empowerment. She has spoken at APEC as well as offering strategic advice to the Scottish Government on empowering women in agriculture.

She is a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to agriculture and women, 2013 Next Business Woman of the Year and named by Primary Magazine as one of the top ten women in agriculture.

Clive Spink, Chief Executive Pūkeko Pictures

Clive Spink is the Chief Executive Officer of Pukeko Pictures.  He is responsible for the growth of the business and its development and production momentum. 

Clive has over 25 years experience in major commercial deal structuring across multiple industries and regions.

His role at Pukeko involves leading and shaping of all major commercial transactions, he serves as an Executive Producer for Thunderbirds, WotWots, Kiddets and is responsible for setting and executing strategies.

During his time at Pukeko he has lead the establishment of a number of global firsts including the first ever Co Production between China and the world, and then extending this to the first Official three way Co Production between China, Canada and NZ.

Clive is a chartered Accountant and a member of Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand.

As an Ambassador Melbourne-based workplace kindness initiative Yes Queen, and co-founder of Canary Collective, it’s Pia’s mission to ‘build better business’ – and a better society – by helping organisations make inclusion, behaviour change, and equity real.

Curious and restless, Pia has studied coding, education, fine art, graphic design, and psychology. She’s worked across a number of industries from tech start ups to electricity to banking to public service.

Thomas van Raamsdonk, Irritator and Inspirer. Building performance geek. GM for Pro Clima in Australia & New Zealand

Thomas’ vision is to create healthy, long lasting and energy efficient surroundings for all families, schools and businesses in Oceania. Having worked in Germany, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, Thomas gained extensive knowledge on airtightness, thermal bridging and healthy homes. He is passionate about knowledge transfer and sharing knowledge with industry and research institutions on how building standards can be improved.

Thomas has been the General Manager of Pro Clima NZ Ltd and Pro Clima Australia Pty Ltd since 2006. Pro Clima is a leader in development and manufacturing of intelligent high performance sealing systems in construction.

Haritina Mogoșanu, Astrobiologist and Space Science Communicator

I’m a Martian at heart, a space science communicator for a job and an astrobiologist and amateur astronomer for the rest of the time. I think I’m good at connecting people, I’ve been creating networks that engage astronomy and space scientists with communities through hands-on programmes.

For me, the most profound and amazing connection we have with each other is that we are all made of stardust. And since Earth is the only place we have discovered life so far, we must do everything in our power to take care of it. And that is easy, all we need to do is learn our science, which is the universal language that explains how the world works.

Gareth Parry, Creating spaces for people to work together, Partner at PwC New Zealand

I’ve spent my working life in the broader design community in Aotearoa New Zealand — beginning with a bachelor’s degree in architecture followed by large chunks of learning design, digital advertising, infography, live scribing, event framing/design/production/facilitation, and human-centered experience design. Much of that work has focused on making the services that New Zealanders access, better.

That work has led me to care deeply about equitability — policies, services, and systems that deal with people and their whanau where they are, given their circumstances, needs, preferences, and abilities. My focus for the last few years has been on creating open and empathetic spaces for people to meet, relate, collaborate, and partner in the design and redesign of policies, services, and systems.

Hīria Te Rangi, Kaiwhakahaere o Whare Hauora

Hīria (Ngāti Porou, Tūwharetoa) loves her community and loves technology, so Kaiwhakahaere for Whare Hauora was a natural role for her. With almost 20 years in tech with numerous technical and business roles in open data, open source, digital technologies, open banking and infrastructure, Hiria used all of her technical expertise to create the Whare hauora sensors and data platform. But it was for the love of her grandmother and the trust of her people that she determined that Whare hauora would be kaitiaki, not owners of the data collected, as it rightfully belongs to the family.

Guled Mire, Community Advocate & Co-founder, Third Culture Minds

Guled Mire is a senior policy advisor by profession and a writer, speaker and community advocate in his spare time. He was a finalist for the 2019 Wellingtonian of the Year Award and is recognised as one of New Zealand’s most prominent young voices advocating for a more humane, inclusive and welcoming society. Guled uses his platform and profile to facilitate courageous conversations about racism and discrimination in New Zealand and what we need to do to build a truly inclusive, welcoming society. He is a big fan of having open conversations about mental health and has been championing work, through Third Culture Minds as a founding member, to support young people from refugee and migrant backgrounds get the support they need.

Sandy has worked in the screen industry for over 15 years, covering a range of key positions at government funding agencies and arts organisations, including the New Zealand Film Commission, Creative New Zealand and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise. Sandy has held the position of Executive Director at SPADA since 2014.

Jase Te Patu, Founder of M3 Mindfulness for children, Co-owner Awhi Yoga and Wellbeing

Jase Te Patu (Ngāti Apa, Ngāti Tūwharetoa) is a TED X Wellington Speaker. He has over 25 years worth of experience teaching in the wellbeing industry. He is an award-winning facilitator, and co-owner of Awhi Yoga and Wellbeing. Jase is Founder of M3 – Mindfulness for children and is passionate about supporting adults and children alike, with their mental and emotional wellbeing. Jase is an Edmund Hillary Fellow, Ambassador for Youthline, and active-wear brand lululemon.

Raqi Syed, Digital Artist

Raqi Syed is a writer and artist who has worked on a bunch of films. In 2017, The Los Angeles Times pegged Raqi for its list of 100 Industry professionals who can help fix Hollywood’s Diversity Problem.

Her writing focuses on film and gender, film technology, and the history and business of visual effects. Her VR experience, MINIMUM MASS, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and her essays have appeared in TechCrunch, Vice, Salon, Quartz, and The Los Angeles Review of Books. Raqi is a 2018 Sundance New Frontier Story Lab Fellow, and 2020 Ucross Fellow.

She holds an MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts and an MA in Creating Writing from Victoria University of Wellington, and is a Senior Lecturer at Victoria University of Wellington.

Gabe Davidson, Cocoa Bean Hunter

Gabe is the co-founder of The Wellington Chocolate Factory and founder of The Original Cocoa Traders, Melbourne. 

A keen interest in ethical business he is an advocate for fairly traded cocoa and has gone to great lengths to source and promote interesting cocoa varieties, from the Peruvian Andes to PNG and the South Pacific. 

Gabe lives on the Kapiti Coast with partner Hayley and three little ones. 

When he’s not playing entrepreneur or dad, he loves playing live music with his band ‘Swagman’ and enjoys his role as a food rescue driver with Kaibosh.

Olie is an Edmund Hillary Fellow, Obama Foundation Leader, TEDx Speaker and an award winning storyteller and social entrepreneur. Through giving people the tools to manage menstruation sustainably, she’s at the forefront of a paradigm shift: shaping what it means to inhabit this earth consciously, and with a pair of ovaries.

Olie founded the social enterprise Wā Collective to connect people back with their bodies and to the earth, using humour, heart and inclusivity. Passionate about systems change, Olie believes that it’s through redrawing processes and ideologies that shape business, we can fasttrack having a net positive impact for people and planet. 

Ged Finch, X-frame

Ged is a PhD Candidate in the School of Architecture at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. His research looks at methods to design building systems to facilitate material reuse and/or high-value recycling at end-of-life (a Circular Economy).

Ged’s activities are centered on a series of design-build projects and has led him to develop New Zealand’s first Circular Economy construction systems, X Frame. Ged grew up in Omakau, a small rural Central Otago town and moved to Wellington in 2013 to begin his studies in architecture.

I’m a creative technology producer making VR experiences that make you smile. For the past 2 years I’ve moved my full attention into social VR gaming at my company Beyond. Our first VR LBE game Oddball is out now at Two Bit Circus in LA and our HQ here in beautiful Wellington, NZ. We measure success by the number of times people laugh out loud during a game. So far it’s been a big success.

Dr Sarb Johal, Clinical Psychologist and Youtube Creator

Sarb is of Indian descent, born and raised in London, and has made his home New Zealand for the last 15 years. With 30 years experience as a Psychologist, he is often asked to contribute to a very wide range of work, from media commentator to personal and organisational coach, mentor and advisor. He also creates videos on Youtube and other platforms on psychology and mobile video and technology.
